Wow, have things have been quiet around here this past year! As many of you know, I took a little bit of time off during 2016 while my husband spent 11 months serving on a deployment in Afghanistan. Not only that, but after several rounds of infertility treatments we were THRILLED to become pregnant with our little girl who will be making her arrival in just a matter of weeks! One of my main deployment/extended maternity leave projects was working on this little one’s nursery, which is something I didn’t really get to do for our son so I was really looking forward to going all out since we are also now settled into our new forever-ish home! I searched high and low scouring the internet for the PERFECT wallpaper to create an accent wall. I wanted something really light and soft without looking like a 1970’s bathroom print and I finally found the perfect thing on Spoonflower by Indy Bloom Design. I love how it turned out! I also purchased fabric to line the back of a plain white bookcase in the matching print, and sew an accent pillow for the rocking chair (which isn’t done yet!). I was also obsessed with the Pottery Barn rocking chairs but unfortunately it was a little out of budget. Luckily after looking into a few furniture companies that I remembered from my furniture selling days, I found a nearly identical rocker of the PB chair I had been drooling over for literally half the price! Slowly but surely, things have come together and now all that we’re missing for the room is a baby! I’m SO excited to share what it looks like (pre-newborn chaos). Enjoy!
